Stone and Water: Myths and Tales from Scotland

Live Storytelling Performance
Age: 7+
Running time: 60 mins
Author and storyteller: Daiva Ivanauskaitė-Brown
Musician: Gabija Kochanskaitė

An evening of stories told by Daiva Ivanauskaitė-Brown, a professional storyteller living in Scotland. Daiva will immerse you in Scottish Celtic magic. You will hear how Scotland was created by the giant goddess Cailleach Beira. You will taste the water from the well of youth sweetened by the magic of mischievous fairies. You will dance with selkies or seal people on the beach and learn to protect yourself from kelpies – lake monsters. And at the end we will weave our own tartans – multi-colored plaid fabrics wich Scots use for their kilts. The stories will be accompanied by the sounds of the kanklės-harp, a typical instrument of the Lithuania’s seaside region, created by Gabija Kochanskaitė.
